Scene Study Instructor & Artistic Associate
Anthony Shim first began his career as an actor in 2003 studying with Kate Twa at Lyric School of Acting, where he also began his on-going voice training with Dr. Iris MacGregor-Bannerman. Over the years, he has appeared in numerous theatre, commercial, film, and TV projects. Recent credits include recurring roles on The Man in the High Castle, 21 Thunder, and appearances in feature films Star Trek Beyond and Zoe.
In the spring of 2010, Anthony co‐founded Blind Pig Theatre (formerly known as Ninja Pirates Theatre Society) and served as Artistic Director. Anthony produced and directed six of the company’s seven productions including This is Our Youth by Kenneth Lonergan, SubUrbia by Eric Bogosian, and Frankenstein by Victor Gialanella. Then in 2015, Anthony began serving as the co-curator of Railtown Lab, an initiative designed to support the development of original theatre works based out of Railtown Actors Studio. He has since produced five original workshop productions and directed the Lab’s first show “For the Record” by Raul Inglis Sanchez.
Anthony has always had a curiosity and a passion for teaching and in 2010 he was given the opportunity to be an instructor at Railtown Actors Studio under the guidance of his long-time mentor, Kate Twa. Since then he has worked relentlessly with hundreds of actors teaching a variety of classes including improv, rehearsal technique, Theatre of the Absurd, and contemporary scene study.
Anthony currently teaches the Saturday and Sunday Ensemble classes which culminate in sold-out Presentations every semester.
